McCarthy

Had a good game today. There’s a player in there. Just thought I’d say in case he reads this board.

 

I'm glad as he was out for a long time with injury and perhaps now he is getting up to speed.

 

First time I saw him (I think) was at Plymouth under Duff. He came on for Cundy who had looked very dodgy. My first impression was he looked a really good footballing defender.

 

Yeah, he played fairly well today - considering he’s barely played.

Did he end up at Swindon for half season on loan last year? Can’t remember.

 

Keen trainspotter. Joking aside glad he's doing well. He deserves it.

 

I think he's a very solid option for those either side of the centre half. Seems to read it nicely and position himself well - really pleased after his injuries that he's getting a chance.e

 

Controversial opinion but I prefer him to Pines.

 

If not for Pines today I fear we wouldn't have won at all. Hes so dominant in the air, Mccarthy isnt that great a headerer* and even if he was he just doesn't have the physique or strength to match Pines. Mccarthy is better on the ball though imo
