I don’t think we’ve played well once this season for a full 90 minutes, a think Rotherham we were great in periods of the game but not the full 90. We seem to have a great first half and woeful second half, and vice versa, we’ve also had a poor first half and an even worse second half Whilst I do think we’re 3/4 players missing, a very unbalanced team, a manager who I think is still learning each week and a board that can only operate wiring our means it’s very apparent that when things gel we are capable of beating anyone and I think we’ll have enough, just, to make a very good bid to get into the play offs. Last week was a total freak and we didn’t cope with the conditions which was unacceptable, we’ve also had a goalie who imo has been at fault for 4 of the last 5 we’ve conceded, we should’ve had something from both Wrexham and Birmingham who have both bought heavily…… We’ve been poor for about 65% of the season so far but are somehow only a point of the playoffs…….if we can string some sort of home form together we can push for a top 6 spot. Let’s see what January brings
From a scoring perspective: First Half: For 15 - Against 9 Second Half: For 16 - Against 22 We certainly run out of steam after halftime.
Dropped 11 pts from winning so far this season, I shudder when we start dropping deep trying to defend
To be fair, 99% of clubs outside the elite are never 90 minute teams mate. I thought we played good overall against Bolton, first half was decent enough, didn't deserve to be behind, both teams looked about the same, second half we battered em though
I don't mate, I don't think we looked brilliant either but we carved out a few chances and didn't concede many chances either. Bolton very good squad too so we can't expect to blow them away but I certainly thought we did alright that second half!
Bristol Rovers at home in the League, the first 15 minutes was the best I had seen us in years, In terms of battering a team into submission. They couldn't get out of their own 18 yard box never mind their own half,we should have been 3 up game out of sight. Here lies the problem if only we had a striker who could finish. Cole could have filled that role ,ah well. Let's start again in January window.
I’ve said a few times this last month, Devante Cole would’ve had a field day with the chances we create…….the big problem in January is, the striker we’re after, well so are the rest of the league and probably league 2!! A can see us dipping in to the loan market, it’s worked well for us in the past
Caulley Woodrow or as that ship left and sank. Cheeky bid for Mcburnie last time he came in January window he won player of the season.
There’s certainly players of that ilk who would probably like to play for us, we’ve been a good shopping window club for a good few year now so a do think we’re a good option for players looking at summer moves or finding there form again…….Woodrow would be fantastic but a reckon he’ll not move back north again, a think he’s got children now too so even less appealing coming back up north
McBurnie lol! Is he unhappy in Spain? His value is over £3 million. His wages are likely to be well in to five figures per week.
Agree with you we are close to been a very good side. Unlucky v wrexham and was hard v Birmingham when down to 10 men. Not sure clarkes learning he's a experienced lower league manager maybe he's learning about this group. Priority in January would be a goalkeeper and a striker and get rid of some frindge players if we can.
Between January and May last season chances were put on a plate for Cole regularly. The number of chances that were flashed across the 6 yard box and he failed to score was unbelievable. If we could guarantee getting the Cole who scored the best part of 20 goals in the first half of the season I'd be all for having him back. The Cole of the second half of the season? No thanks.
There was loads of games under Collins towards the backend of his time, we could have had Harry kane upfront it was pass it around the back then a hoof to no-one blackpool away one of the worst games for it. Mcatees goals were mostly worldies.
I think it was blatantly obvious what the problem was with Cole,he wanted to go in the summer ,he put himself in the shop window,we should have cashed out in January. He was on the beach after Christmas, that's the life of football of today ,long gone the Barry Murphys and Bobby Hassel here for the long haul.
