After over a year out, Constitution Hill runs at Kempton at five to two. The most beautiful horse of them all. I really hope he's still at the level we saw before his lay off and he can beat Lossiemouth. It would be sad to see him as a shell of his former self.
Tell you what, though. If Constitution Hill does win this it will be some training performance after his setbacks and absence. Get ready for a very emotional Nicky Henderson if he wins.
What a beautiful horse. The Frankel of the jumps. Never in doubt. A joy to behold. He cannot be talked up enough. Cheltenham Festival he will be better still. If he was going to lose it would be today, but he didn't show any rust. Mullins won't dare put Lossiemouth up for a rematch in March.
Surely she goes for the Mares' Hurdle (G1)? Constitution Hill was brilliant, and what a training performance from Nicky. Perhaps just as entertaining was Nico's broadside aimed at Paddy Brennan on the walk-in. I'd have liked to hear the uncensored version! Ballyburn v Sir Gino today. Impossible to pick between them, for my money. But another great race to watch. My nap today would be Hosaam (2.15 Wetherby). Had a respectable hurdles debut when second at Catterick, and would have a stone or more in hand of these on the Flat. Brian Hughes rides. I'd also give a mention to Sea Of Sands (1.45 Leopardstown). 7/1 now, and is being backed. Ruby Walsh gave him a favourable mention recently.
Reminds me of the Tommy Cooper joke : I backed a horse today at twenty to one …….. It came in at twenty past four
There's an old story about an old chap from Lundwood actually Trying to back an horse into the bookies for a laugh. Back in the good old 60s ,so could be true.
