Just seen your message BMW. Christmas prep has taken over in this house right now so I'm very much at the beck and call of my missus to the detriment of the BBS. As Tosh has said, the minutes will go up on the Club website. In the meantime I'll try and find the time to post a brief summary from the meeting. The questions from the BBS will be submitted separately as we ran out of time at the meeting.
Compliments of the season to you BMW. That magnificent result on Boxing Day has certainly made the festive season a lot better!!! I'm conscious that I didn't respond to your earlier post re the last FAB meeting. As I've said the minutes will be posted on the Club website when complete and I'll be submitting the last set of Q&A from the BBS once our Christmas and NY visitors have left the building. By way of summary the last meeting was largely taken up by a long discussion on match commentaries at (mainly) away games for our visually impaired fans. We'll be taking this further. The other time consuming issue was a discussion around the continuing problems and challenges the Club faces with car parking issues on match days; not least of which are the access and egress difficulties Oakwell residents have when there is a match on. All the other items were covered: We are compliant re evacuation for wheelchair users in the Exec Suite. Fanzone still going ahead. Interesting discussion about having a memorial garden and how that could be managed. Under AOB, Dom from Rapid Response advised us of potential free tickets he could sort for Foster Kids during the second half of the season. Apologies for the delay in responding.
Thnk you 55&counting for that summery and seasons greetings to you and yours too. Regarding having a memorial garden it might be worth having a look at the one at Blackburn Rovers. It's a lovely setting within their fanzone perimeter and its been done in a very stylish way with plants ,flowers, permanent bench seating with signage of the departed love ones, I even seem to recall a water feature but that could be my imagination running wild.
If vehicles are parked legally, and abiding by the no parking cones, then not much the club can do or be expected to do. Oakwell has been there long before any existing residents will have been - you buy a house around a football ground, you have to expect crowd and parking difficulties at times. If they don’t like it, they shouldn’t have bought a house around there. And whilst some idiots will park stupidly, again, you have to factor that in as well.
