Come on Clarke fire em up for our home games, two big games coming up and they need to perform at Oakwell. Great couple of results and a hearty well done from me.
The score doesn't flatter us the pen looked soft to say the least,as been said great team performance no one less than a 7. Now time to produce it at home.
2 brilliant away wins, Clarke has to sort this home form out and he’ll start getting credit from me - until then I’m a hard please. The board have to back us in January, they have to splash out on a couple of top strikers, LWB and a better left-sided CB….
Just a cb and a striker for me. No way we get quality in every position you mention. Otherwise it will be quantity rather than quality
Very similar all-round performance to Boxing Day, but more obvious because the opposition aren’t quite the same quality. Not without Poku in particular. It’s a transitional season for Posh who will be good again in 12 months as the talent beds in. I was properly impressed again with Corey and Maël especially. Nice little partnership they’ve got going, and it helps that they’ve Phillips back involved on that side. Three very well-taken goals. Can tell Don used to be a striker. Another perfectly executed Hourihane set play. And Big Jon dropping the shoulder and bending one home like prime Prosinecki. Simply lovely. Absolutely nothing to fault out there today. Unless you expect the team to be perfect in all moments. It was the same at Bolton. The odd error. But for the vast majority, we’ve gone and bossed a game of football away from home. Again. NYD is the big test for me. Fresh start at Oakwell. Everyone knows the displays are there on the road. Nothing should be making a difference on home soil. It’s for the staff to figure out why that is. And not just Darrell and co. But those tasked with putting on a matchday. Only negative today was Watters’ withdrawal. I hope that was more of a precautionary measure. His presence ensures the oppo backline is on their toes. Less likely to push on. Plus, we’ve seen what’s in reserve… Up the Tykes x
Really solid performance. Dominated early stages then the Watters miss seemed to deflate us a bit. Picked ourselves up after half time and scored two very well worked goals. Had a daft ten minutes when we gifted them loads of the free kicks and the pen. Sending off seemed harsh but helped us over the line and a great strike from Jon Peterborough are a poor side but you can only beat what’s in front of you and we did convincingly. Congratulations to DC and the team great response to the Orient debacle. We now need to treat 2025 as a new start turn that home form round. special mention from me for MDG today. Not my favourite player by a long way but he was excellent today.
My priorities for Jan would be send that keeper back try get rid of Cosgrove and bring in a keeper and another striker.
Well played reds. Away from home we're quite often a pleasure to watch. Made it a Happier Xmas! Special mention for O'Keefe today - not an idol of mine but he was excellent and showed that there is talent in there. Needs to show it more consistently.
Got to agree with this. He's been pretty decent. Another player today who doesn't normally get much praise (me included)... O'Keeffe I thought he was very good today to be fair
Imho a very deserved 3 points. The only negative was our lack of concentration at times, letting them into a game they really weren't. Some of play was very good and our players look like championship players at times and then they look like pub players at other times....I guess that's why they are in league one and I guess I just expect too much. Anyway very well done...and our offensive corners looked great, including the Dkd goal. The ref gave them a very soft pen and then evened it up with a very soft sending off.. Congrats to players and coaching staff and thanks for two great away results.
Very difficult to say where we will strengthen in January. Not only is it notoriously expensive to pick up quality players for the right money, but we have a frustrating rather than poor first 18 in my opinion. I think sending Slonina and Craig back makes sense and trying to get two more effective loans in.
I'm afraid expecting Barnsley to 'splash out' ain't gonna happen. It'll be a couple of loans at best. I sincerely hope I'm wrong mind.
