    As others have said it will depend on January. A striker is a must but just as essential is a solid defender who might not make headline catching runs up the pitch but has good positional sense and can stop the ball going in. We may already have that out on loan. It's also absolutely crucial that we get a big ugly midfielder in who can tackle and break up play. Doesn't need to start every week but be able to come on and help us see out games because our current squad doesn't lend itself to that

    That's the key isn't it.

    The good news is that for all the nonsense talked about this division, the standard is truly dreadful. It really wouldn't take much to be competitive in terms of getting one of those 3 promotion spots. With the quality we have at the Club it's an excellent achievement to get into 7th place at the moment. If we can just find a striker (or 2) in the window (however we get them) then we might give ourselves a chance of promotion. And imo, that's what it needs to be: another failure in the Playoffs won't hack it.
