Behave. He is on the longest starting run for a reds player since Nicky Eaden for a reason. Very decent at this level....

All squad as been ****, he's been slightly above that.
Remember Mads in his first seasons?
    Made mistakes but came good

Mads had a number of physical attributes though, he was big and strong and not exactly slow

MDG looks nowhere near strong enough, zero physical presence

he’s half decent, 6-7/10 every week definitely not our main weakness

The worst player to have played even half the number of games he has in my near 50 years watching. Gives two to three clear goalscoring opportunities away a game on average. Luckily got away with his ineptitude a lot last season due to poor opposition finishing or being bailed out by others, especially Roberts.

Totally inept at doing what he his there to do - defend. Weak, painfully slow, poor in the air, positionally abysmal, runs under opposition corners, gets bullied off the ball, runs into blind alleys and loses the ball, constantly plays team-mates into trouble. I'm not even that bothered about the two main characteristics he seems to have 'developed' into his game this season namely his appalling play-acting and his now trademark foul throw.

I think I'm right in saying that in 2024 he is the League 1 defender that has been on the pitch when most goals have been conceded by his team. And what have we - something like 5 clean sheets in the last league 46 games? He's the one constant and its no coincidence.

I've tried to convince myself he's not the worst central defender I've seen in a red shirt, and yet he plays in an era where we play three centre backs, with at least one deep-lying midfielder, in division 3, a division with year-on-year declining standards. So he is.

I've kicked off a couple of times in recent years about not renewing and then renewed because at the end of the day it's all about the game and the players. I'm adamant this time that never again am I going to waste a large chunk of what's left of my dwindling disposable income watching players as bad as this lad.

Great post. I often think people are taking the piss when I see a vote or two for him in player of the match posts.

The only time I’ve been impressed with him this season was Exeter away.

Well need a strong finish to this season just to stay mid table, sadly this lad only looks half decent when all the others around him are fit. Average at best but looked less than average in a poor squad today. Certainly not the future if we're to progress. Once we have enough points to secure L1 we should start playing the young uns ready for next season..Roberts in a Solbaur type role guiding their development.

mdg is the curse he is the worst defender we've got he's lazy can't dribble ,can't clear the ball got to pass sideways or back to the goalie and put us in trouble and can't pick the opposition up he saw the player at the back post yesterday and did nothing instead he stood close to his own team mate instead of marking the player on the back post he is a terrible excuse for a defender and as for killing he's got back to his usual game of patter cake I have never like him for that reason instead of catching the ball he thinks for some reason it's better to pat it out.we NEED A BIG OVERHAUL OF GK AND DEFENCE ESPECIALLY MDG AND EARL EARL MIGHT PLAY BETTER WITHOUT MDG IN FACT I THINK EVERYONE WILL PLAY BETTER WITHOUT MDG.

Actually had his best season this time round under Clarke.. bit of skill with his feet going forward, but not a good defender. One of many we have who will never play above the level he's at now.. not his fault done the best he can with his ability..

incredibly dramatic, hes not perfect but has had higher tackles/interceptions per game and higher passing accuracy than roberts this season so worst in 50 years could be a stretch

Have to say I thought he played really well today. I've been quick to criticise but credit where it's due today

Absolutely love it when someone digs the threads about players being Absolutely SH%#E.
Cos next thing is if we win next 3 games ,they will be quoting ,best player I've seen in decades.
Can someone please dig out the threads about Jon Russell being SH#!E.
I said on here get him playing and he will be instrumental in getting us in the top 6.
Great to see him get on the scoresheet for his 3rd of the season ???? Maybe wrong.
Players need game time to get going ,give them a chance at least before slating them on here.

MDG has his faults and if he ever got to the championship with us I’d be worried but come on people we’ve had way way worse players than him over the years
