Very active today. I'm not sure who was instructing who on the pitch. I've never seen owt like it tbf. Clarke was up and down off the wall. And the other 4 taking it in turns to pass orders on to the players. Especially second half it was none stop. Hourianne. Devaney,. Stead and Bittner (who certainly wasn't communicating with Killip)
Same every game (I sit behind them at home). Every set-piece is overseen by Hourihane. They work well together in my eyes - all have a job to do, all ex-pros and all of a similar age. I’ve maintained from the start - our coaching numbers are fine.
Personally; i find it ridiculous how many "coaches" we have!! Is there not a coaching role for electrics(kettle), administering a walk to player's entrance, saying "hi" and 'stealing a living'
I haven’t seen these advertised. Can I apply for stealing a living coach? Sounds like it might be working from home which suits me.
If it's the light bulb at the bottom of the car park that has been out for about 3 years, we clearly need more coaches.
If its owt like new cars, they start wi the bulb and build a car around it, buggers to change nowadays. You either have to disassemble the whole car or get a 3 year old to do it. Maybe they built Oakwell around that bulb.
I've no issue with the number of coaches. But sat close by. It felt more like they were competing to give advice as it was one after the other. Not sure who the goalkeeping coach was giving earfulls to, but it certainly wasn't Killip. Several around me commented on the issue. Thinking the players must be confused as to who to take orders from. Connor looked to have a little confrontation when a couple of the players were subbed. ? Cotter or Phillips. Handbags but not sure why. Cotter was my motm. (Up to being subbed) especially in the second half. Got some great tackles in. At their end of the pitch. Creating good chances.
The GK coach, James Bittner, does a lot with the iPad during games, watching stuff. I think his role is to feedback on certain things. Whilst it might seem a bit ‘mad’ at times, Clarke will have them organised and they and the players know who does what etc. In regards the subs, yes, I noticed both Hourihane and Devaney both seemingly telling Cotter to shut up and sit down. Hourihane certainly wasn’t taking any crap off him. Fair play tbh.
