Right decision. He isn’t ready to be a number 1 choice in L1 which is what we need. In his brief spell probably cost us 6or 7 points So best all round.

Time to bring in a proper keeper now.

Disagree. We’ve 2 already in the building, who have formed relationships with the squad and coaches already. Stick with what we’ve got imo.

I don’t think we’ll get anyone with L1 experience who will improve us that much - and then you’ve to allow for 5-6 games to settle in with the back 3.

Let Killip and Smith battle it out.

Chris Wood was absolutely atrocious for us. Best striker in PL right now.

I am fully aware players might not fit in or kick on at one club, but can go on & do well at other clubs.

Slonina has been crap for us.

Yeah but you simply said he was crap, without any qualification. Which means crap. Full stop.

At least now you've qualified it by saying he was crap for us, which makes more sense if you want to change your mind at a later date.

And if it proves that he knows more than the professionals then I would pay proper respect ;)

So could you have qualified your original comment somewhat? As it stands it just comes across as arrogant, and I’m sure that’s not what you intended!

Good shot stopping and reflexes. No good on crosses and commanding his goal area, too scared of getting clattered which is no good for a goalie.

My opinion was that Slonina was a far better shot stopper than Killip, more agile, just sharper. It was his judgement on balls into the box that let him down and cost us. If he can sort that out he'll do very well.

Chelsea re-call, or have we given him the finger?

Killip is a long way off food enough to be considered first choice for a play off contender and Smith needs to go out on loan. In the last few years we have had some very good loan keepers

Lincoln, Wigan, Blackpool to name 3 of top of my head.

Shame about the errors because he then never got praise when he did do well, fans don't like changing their minds about players. He was at fault for goals but he certainly saved plenty too. Think he will have a very good career, just needs more experience.

I hope we dont fetch another young keeper in, its pointless. First mistake he will get hounded and a tonne of pressure from fans on him, we may as well play Smith if we're getting another inexperienced lad. Would love to see an older head, one who isn't getting much game time. Handling the moaning and groaning off our fans will be a huge obstacle and if they've got years of experience it'll certainly help

There's no way he's cost us 7 points. He saved us 3 from Blackpool alone

I think it depends on which version of him comes back! I really like Killips distribution, Roberts was always terrible even when he was making world class saves every 5 minutes

Killips kicking is great...however he's not good enough on crosses and saves. We need a keeper who can command his area and claim crosses

With respect, Goalies at that age, great shot stoppers, sometimes making the easy look difficult, we've had em b4. Bobby Horn. Martin New. Scott Flinders. Phil Whitehead.( I think Scott and phil were the only ones to forge a career of note. All at lower league.).
Walton was a great shot stopper. But better all round than Slonina. I've said it many times good luck to the lad. But he has a lot more to learn. And we are not in a position to develop from his level. (Well below par even for league 1.)

Good luck to the lad. I hope he goes on to be successful but am pleased we are no longer sponsoring his learning curve with dropped points. I have my doubts as to whether he will make it at the top level - he doesn't seem brave enough, which is a bit of a flaw for a keeper. But time will tell.
