I thought we were absolutely awful with it today. Three bookings was it? Not sure I remember ever seeing 3 players booked for it in a single game. If it had been Wrexham doing it, we’d all be here doing our nut.
Yes but the spare ball which players know they should use was sitting on the cone next to the net. From a technical point of view why was Killip booked and not Pines or anyone else? There's no rule saying who must take a goal kick is there?
Classic Clarke ball… eat up as much time as possible instead of going for the jugular, surely you’re used to it by now?! It was the same early on in the 2nd half vs. Reading when we were 1-0 up & the same vs. Charlton when we were 1-0 up in the 2nd half.
I was confused why O’Keefe got booked when no-one took a throw in. Did he pick it up and then leave it for someone else or something? It looked like the ref just booked a random player.
I agree, think Ref was under pressure from Parkinson and decided to book next opportunity to send a message
Very frustrating to see the ref rigorously upholding the laws of the game for time-wasting for one side, yet blatant fouls and even a. ‘Punch’ by the opposition didn’t even warrant a yellow card.
I get the sentiment and agree with the OP. However, you have to 5hit house the ref. I think Hourihane will come to the fore there.
Christ above you're relentless. I don't like time wasting, especially early on. But times last season we did it from the 65th minute. We did it under Duff, too. Collins should have had plenty of yellow cards, he laid on ball for 10 minutes. It's just football these days, it's a crying shame, but we're no where near the worst at it.
He got booked because one of our coaching staff threw the ball to him as he walked down the touchline. He kind of half caught it and then just let it fall and walked on. Ref booked him. I assume the ref thought he was messing around trying to time waste but he was actually just continuing walking the way he had been (blind side to the ref initially) and wasn't the player going to take the throw.
Many teams have taken the pee this season even wrexham after they scored in the 92nd minute at their place. And we did our nut. Most fans react the same. I personally dont like how the game is going. Players now going down only to recover b4 the physio comes on and they would have to go off. All teams now use that tactic to stop momentum by the opposition.
To balance out your reply, there's also been times we've gone for the jugular and paid the price, when really we shouldn't have been so naive and didn't really need to. Game management and dark arts are pretty much box standard in the modern game
I’m waiting for the next manager you pick constant faults with. We’ve just beaten a team above us in the league and this is your reaction. Do you actually support Barnsley or are you just on here being contrite?
It actually wasn't that bad We got 3 yellows for it but the 3 yellows the Wrexham lads should have got for bad tackles went unpunished.
