It certainly is a weapon you’re right. You’d think as well that better players would make better runs for him to see too. Special player with the ball at his feet and I imagine it won’t take long for the vultures to swoop.
He's a class player. Terrific going forward. Best talent at the club. Needs an enforcer alongside him, or some coaching in tackling. His tackling reminds me of Hourihane when he first arrived. A lot of the time he seems to be wrong footed when going in for a tackle. I seem to remember one of our previous coaches talking about it in respect of CH, and fixing it. Maybe CH could help him out. If he could sort that out he's a high end championship player.
Very much this. Nwakali on the ball is streets ahead of anyone else at the club and likely in the division. But we need Phillips’ goals and assists. Clarke likes Russell and he has had a decent season - but against a better side than Crawley we will need Connell’s graft. He does the dirty work better than anyone else we have and as well as anyone I’ve seen for us in many a season. With a back three, which we will have, it is difficult to see a team with all four of them in. One has to miss out. I imagine Phillips will play for the goal contributions and Russell, Connell and Nwakali will share the other two spots.
It certainly is a selection headache for Clarke. But at least it’s a nice one to have. I guess it will depend on the opposition. Teams that will try to overrun us in midfield, we would need Connell playing whereas teams that sit off us in midfield, Nwakali can easily dictate. Tough decisions.
The ball he played in the 2nd half. Think it might have been to Watters on the right, not sure. Was ruled offside, but the pass was wild. He must have been the only person in the stadium who saw that ball.
Hes a Europa league player. I said this from the start. Will unfortunately go to a top end Turkish team or something so let's make most of him while he's here
I don’t have any idea how we’ve been able to sign him. He’s miles better than a League 1 player. I still can’t get my head round the fact he can’t get a game week in week out.
Just wow! I have run out of superlatives to describe this guys ability and passing accuracy and range. I genuinely get excited when I see his name on the the team sheet. He has like a picture in his brain of where everyone is, like a sat nav! The next bit is the best bit he effortlessly finds a pass with laser prosision with exactly the correct weight ...it is a privilege to see this amazing player, who finds time and gets us on the front foot at every opportunity....5 yards 40 yards....it really doesn't matter. Thats it....that's all I have!
I was just about the post this. It was a genuine ‘world class’ pass, that you would expect from the likes of De Bruyne. I think he’s got a fair bit to work on off the ball, but his natural talent is very exciting indeed.
I think he’ll get a run of games now because we’re playing weaker opposition. He’s outstanding on the ball but you can see he still needs work off the ball. If we had Birmingham away on Saturday instead of Northampton I’m confident he would be back on the bench.
