It’s massively worrying. I don’t understand why more people aren’t really worried. Then again, no one seems to give a fk about the world literally melting before our eyes. So what chance do we have? The climate emergency, Trump, Musk, the global rise of the far-right, the race for seaports and military bases, the BRICS assembly. This all points to a very dark outcome for me.
Funny how all the people that voted for Trump because "he's going to bring prices down" and Kamala would "start world war 3" are saying nothing about the fact that he's currently not pledged any policies to tackle high prices, but him and his administration has so far threatened 4 allies (including the UK) with military force. Utter morons every last one of them that voted for him.
I'm not sure if his supporters are worse, or all the Muslim voters who refused to vote Harris because of Palestine only to now see Trump threatening to blow Palestine off the map in two weeks. That was a real good idea guys. Well played. And he's now threatening tariffs against everyone and anyone - including us, the EU (Denmark) and China. Lots of his poorer voters are going to be a lot poorer.
I left Twitter when he took over and I would never buy a Tesla out of principle, people who do should have a word with themselves, the man is a menace to the world.
I think Aldous Huxley nailed it in his Brave New World revisited. This was written in 1958. Note that ‘propaganda’ is defined as ‘information that is spread to influence public opinion’ “The early advocates of universal literacy and a free press envisaged only two possibilities: the propaganda might be true, or it might be false. They did not foresee what in fact has happened, above all in our Western capitalist democracies—the development of a vast mass communications industry, concerned in the main neither with the true nor the false, but with the unreal, the more or less totally irrelevant. In a word, they failed to take into account man's almost infinite appetite for distractions. For conditions even remotely comparable to those now prevailing we must return to imperial Rome, where the populace was kept in good humour by frequent doses of many kinds of entertainment—from poetical dramas to gladiatorial fights…. but even in Rome there was nothing like the non-stop distraction now provided by newspapers and magazines, by radio, television and the cinema…. A society most of whose members spend a great part of their time in the irrelevant other worlds of sport and soap opera, of mythology and metaphysical fantasy, will find it hard to resist the encroachments of those who would manipulate and control it. In their propaganda today's dictators rely for the most part on repetition, suppression and rationalization—the repetition of catchwords which they wish to be accepted as true, the suppression of facts which they wish to be ignored, the arousal and rationalization of passions which may be used in the interests of the Party or the State. As the art and science of manipulation come to be better understood, the dictators of the future will doubtless learn to combine these techniques with the non-stop distractions which, in the West, are now threatening to drown in a sea of irrelevance the rational propaganda essential to the maintenance of individual liberty and the survival of democratic institutions.”
Save humanity from what? His dad was on tv this morning, I can see where he gets his fascist ideas from.
BNW was always better than 1984 imo. You can't keep fleecing the majority of society and enriching billionaires whilst hoping there's no push back. That's why they keep ramping up the levels of lies, nonsense, faux rage and crap about wokeness etc. Divide and rule, divide and rule. It works folks, unfortunately.
convinced that’s the reason he’s suddenly started taking the one child he has that wants anything to do with him everywhere he goes. using him as a human shield.
