    Non league football must have a different breed of human.
    Seems to attract people who can have a pint and share a non segregated ground without the need to fall out with each other.

    I actually think it does. From experience, when I've been to pre-season games or the odd Hallam game, the typical non league fan seems to be more content with enjoying a match rather than a match day, so to speak. Having a beer in the stand because they enjoy one, rather than spending 4 hours in town pre game getting smashed.

    I think it's worth trying. Restricting it to half time just means fans drink twice as quick in a short period.
    If people want to get drunk and act like idiots they will find a way regardless.

    I only have one in the ground now. Just before half-time. Don't like paying £6 but if you're only having one it doesn't break the bank.

    In many other sports and spectator events, drinking in your seat is a reasonable, civilised and well established thing to do.

    For some reason, football attracts a cluster of people that make a Neanderthal seem Einsteinesque, so having drinks in hand would quickly become a contest to how many people you can spray with it. Terrible idea.

    I'd love to be able to have a pint while watching the game, but inevitably you're going to get dìckheads thinking they're at Boxpark watching England and deliberately chuck beer everywhere if we score - not that I think it's acceptable at Boxpark or anywhere for that matter. For that reason I'd keep things as they are.

    Exactly this. The difference is that thanks to “Away fans” groups on social media, away day drinking has become a bit of a competition. Who can set off earliest and have the most beers en route.
    We sometimes go to Hallam, and it’s entirely different. Family atmosphere, people enjoying a few drinks without getting out of hand.
    I don’t think introducing it at league games would be a good idea.

    Yeah, all football fans are exactly the same. Just give them all more drinking opportunities, it’ll be a universal cure for all ills. :eek:

    I think some fans use the Football as an excuse to escape from family life for a few hours. For some "playtime" is over once the final whistle blows and civilian life starts again. Some fans will inevitably drink like its out of fashion for their allotted time slot. I know I used to use the football as an excuse to get w an kered. Not proud of it but its the truth. The irony is now I take my time. Not in a rush for anything.

    I think there are probably quite a few older fans that now watch their local non league club because the experience is different. Cheaper, friendlier and more fan focussed in the food and drink department.

    Someone on Facebook was asking, was it a good idea to ban people for singing certain songs and having more empty seats, I think some of the empty seats are a result of arseholes attending in the first place. Same reason as why some won’t travel.

    Terrible idea if you are thinking in the mens game. The morons wouldn't think twice about wanging the stuff around. (Seen it on the concourse at away games more than enough times.) Then pi55ing in the pot and wanging that. A definite no from me please.
