America, 20 January 2025 – the day a great predication will come true.

Just over 100 years ago, American journalist HL Mencken was appalled that Warren Harding became president.

“When Dr Harding prepares a speech, he does not think of it in terms of an educated reader but in terms of a great horde of stone heads. An audience of small-town yokels, of low political serfs, or morons scarcely able to understand a word of more than two syllables, and wholly unable to pursue a logical idea for more than two centimetres.”

He made this prediction….

“As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

The great and glorious day is almost here.

Trump absolutely knows what he's doing. And it's not his first rodeo...

 

Depends on how you interpret ‘moron.’ It’s no longer a medical definition but generally defined as stupid or foolish. On just about every issue from drinking bleach to ‘drill drill drill!’ I’d say his opinions and actions could be described as moronic.

 

But he knows why he's saying those things and to what effect. And it works.

Well in one sense yes. But to take the example of drinking bleach, who in their right mind would come out with that? And to what end?

 

To downplay a crisis and to seem like he has answers to an audience without critical thinking. Everything is to serve his ego and his narcissism.

He's got elected again, it may seem ridiculous to you and me, but his approach works in the You S of A.

 

On the upside there's a picture of him on The Guardian front page. He looks to have lost weight and in some way looks ill. We can but hope.

 

The Yanks were already seen as the numbnuts of the world, but it seems they really aren't bothered, maybe it's because 'The World' is the USA to most Americans, their country is the laughing stock of our world, it is a real shame to see so many moron's being led by the ultimate moron.

You shouldn't use that example on twitter or other platforms though if you're trying to convince people. They'll only tell you he didn't actually say that, it was Biden who said Trump said that, and Trump mentioned UV light and looking at disinfectant. (edit - which is technically true)

I know from experience, they use it as 'gotcha'...

 

Of course they think that. They are spoon fed it throughout their education. Pledging allegiance to the flag. Highlighting their victories and glossing over Vietnam. They are fed in every way possible that their country and way of life is not bettered anywhere in the world. Just ask an American about gun laws….

 

They work. Stopped us invading them for about 200 years.
