    We got a similar fee for a defender.

    Neerav and co played hard ball on that occasion. They merely have to do so again, if indeed this rumour is genuine.

    I would imagine you’re right about both clubs not being able to afford that figure. Not our problem.

    As it stands, he’s contracted for the rest of this season, and the entirety of 25/26 and 26/27 (assuming we trigger the option). Anything below what the club received for Kitching and they may as well sell up.

    He averages a goal contribution every other game. His output is frankly ridiculous. He’s entering his prime.

    Can afford to play hardball and he's no Redfearn or Hignett. I'd sit him down, ask him what he wants, if he doesn't want us, bench him and sell.

    We sold Brad Potts to Preston for £1.5M (ish).

    Phillips is twice the player he was plus - as stated above - we're in a strong position with his contract though we need to be aware that he may have a buy out option (with an already stipulated fee).

    5m. We aren't exactly blessed with prolific strikers so letting our most reliable contributor of goals/assists go for cheap would be beyond daft.

    We didn't accept any offers at all for Kane and Cole, and we didn't accept an offer for Styles in the January window. I don't think we'll accept anything less than £4 million for Phillips, but I would rather we didn't sell him at all.

    As Kitching netted us £4 million+, I agree with YT that we should hold out for £5 million for Phillips, or, preferably, not sell him.
