If we get £4million for him the instalments will be at least 10 times what you’ve just put and the EFL rules are in a club goes into admin they need to settle up their football debts in full to keep playing in the league
Hypothetically, hopefully, but what would happen if we were getting a million at year for 4 years and we went into admin in, say year 2?
Personally I think the Hignett comparison is a very reasonable. Not in terms of ability but in terms of the influence of a player who can score or create goals from virtually nothing.
Knowing our Board they'll snap their hands of for 50p and a bag of Cheese & Onion. I just hope they've learned how to say "No thanks!" this time!
Patrick Cryne board maybe but Neerav board don't think so tbh, they have done nothing to suggest they will sell cheap, look at Kitching and Andersen for example
Football debts have to be paid in full in the event of Administration if the club is to continue playing in the league. Obviously if the club gets liquidated that’s different but very unlikely. All instalments mean is that players we buy will also be paid in instalments. It’s nowhere near as big of an issue as people think. Every club does it the exact same way. The only thing it affects is cash flow for non-transfer purposes. Not insignificant but we seemingly have owners willing to put the money in to fill that gap anyway.
It was a joke mate abit of a dig at the ones who say he's not that good he goes missing etc. I'm a big fan of Phillips have been for the last 2 and half seasons. I realise every barnsley player has a price but let's not sell for cheap because he's a big reason we are where we are in the league.
Thing is though,if we get 4 million for him very little will be put into the team.We all know we aren't getting an half decent striker anytime soon !.
It’s very difficult to get a good striker in the January window. The summer is when we should have done it. We all knew it at the time but for some reason those running recruitment thought we could get away without.
I think the Lee and conman sales beat anything I've ever seen Ethan pinnock 3million Kieffier Moore 2 years left on his contract 3million Brad potts 1 and half years left mid promotion campaign 1.5 million Both moore and pinnock went on to play in the Premier league absolute joke fees from owners who were apparently billionaires.... clowns
Hindsight wonderful isn’t it? Personally think £3 million for a CB who hadn’t played any higher than L1 6 years ago was good money. Moore being a striker though I’d agree we should have got more.
The biggest issue of the Moore sale was selling to a fellow relegation rival in Wigan..... At least pinnock went to a team at top end of the league.
Well they were only a rival after buying Moore and spending money they didn't have resulting in a points deduction. They were the worst owners the clubs ever seen absolute leaches who put nothing in.
Agree, play hard ball. Objective has to be getting out of this league, a half hearted transfer fee ain't gonna assist in any way shape or form.
