Came in in a very difficult situation for the club but was contemptibly bad. And I'm not sure he was completely finished as a player at that point, as he made another 50 or so appearances after leaving us for a very decent Blackpool side. My impression was that he just didn't really give a fck.

Compare him with someone like Craig Ireland - a limited footballer who also played for us during some of our darkest days, but would absolutely run through a brick wall for the cause.

Both terrible. but both better than Sean Dunphy.

in his defence though Sean was a young kid coming through the youth team.., we paid for hedworth and coatsworth!

Remember when Gary Coatsworth came back to Oakwell, and he scored the winning goal against us, for Leicester. :(
I think it was in season '92.

Can remember watching Chris Morgan playing for reserves and he was absolutely useless with his feet back then.

I think you need to get back on it if you don't rate Morgan and Moses when sober!

On his return his balding napper looked like a white chocolate Malteser that had rolled out of thi gob and landed in the dog basket. He scored twice an'all, coincided with the opening of the East stand.............sithi.

We've been really spoilt for centre halves in my time watching us, so being outside the Top 20 is no disgrace. Off the top of my head:

    Futcher
    De Zeeuw
    Mawson
    Taggart
    Pinnock
    Roberts
    Smith
    Moses
    Shotton
    Moore
    Shackell

All quality players, but Morgan is definitely up there - he played in the Premier League for us, and didn't remotely look out of place.

As centre halves go. Mike Flynn is without doubt the worst. Both attitude and skill set were utterly appalling. Added to the fact he was slower than me and I’m in a wheelchair.

The worst ‘defender’ also goes to the worst player I’ve seen in a Reds shirt - Tom Kennedy. Beyond woeful. I still have nightmares of how bad Keith Hill’s ‘quarter back’ actually was. He had no redeeming features at all.

Whilst he became a favourite of the younger element. I thought he was bang average at the best. Didn't say he was the worst as tbh imo, vastly overrated. So I added my thoughts on the subject.
Maybe a thread on most overrated would be more apt.
I honestly wouldn't know who i could say was the worst.
There was one Called Paul Boughan who played 3 games for us. So on that basis unfair to be too critical.

M’Voto is one that stands out. He found it hard to go a game without gifting the opposition a goal.

And Bambo stands out for me,performance enhancing drugs didn’t improve him.Built like a heavyweight and like lightning but give him the ball and wait a few seconds for chaos to ensue.

M'voto was crap but I have 2 fond memories:

    1) When he scored a header off a corner where he dove in horizontally like M Bison from Street Fighter and flattened someone.

    2) Where we were 2-1 up, defending a late corner where they had sent the keeper up and the ball somehow broke to him in our half with nobody between him and an open goal. It was like watching him run through treacle trying to sprint away, he eventually shot just as he was about to get caught by the backtracking defenders about 18 yards out and he somehow put it wide.
