Barnsley Football Club can confirm that Andy Dallas has returned to Oakwell following a loan spell with Barrow AFC. Dallas joined the Bluebirds during the 2024 summer transfer window, making 22 appearances. Continue reading...
His goals per minutes on the field for us must be pretty impressive! Small and quick, might be useful to have on the bench.
I would assume - with the brevity of the communication - that he will be heading out somewhere probably on a permanent move. He's scored three goals whilst he's been away and only started 6 games with most of those being recent so you would have thought Barrow would have wanted to keep him on loan. You would have thought we would have recalled him at the start of the window if we wanted to reintegrate him into the team unless some of our current strikers are being off loaded.
https://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=93399 5 goals in 22 games this season. I expect he's been brought back to be sold to another club.
...or we're just stuck with him. "It was due to be a season-long loan but Barrow have taken their option to cut it short in January." link "Barrow AFC can confirm that Andy Dallas has returned to his parent club after we made the decision to conclude his loan spell at The SO Legal Stadium." link Why couldn't the club just tell us this in the communication instead we have to rely on other outlets to find this information?
Reading Barrow's statement it reads as if they are the ones who've taken the decision to terminate the loan so it's up to us to either find a place for him at Oakwell or to move him on.
Great lad, and whether he moves on or not, I’d rather watch him for 10 minutes than a certain other ‘striker’.
I'll support whoever is on the pitch and I feel bad saying this but he shouldn't be anywhere near the team, he's not up to the standard we need unfortunately. And neither is a certain other striker. As everyone seems to agree, to be in with a chance of promotion a new signing is crucial.
Barrow fans seem to think he’s a trier, but no better than what they’ve got. It’s hard to see how anyone could be as out of sorts as Cosgrove.
Might hamper us even more now for getting someone in. That's three strikers surplus to requirements and none that anyone will want.....
