That interview with the Swansea manager isn’t a good look for us that, seems as if he’s insinuating it’s making progress?!

 

To be fair Clarke or Phillips may not know much about it

Clarke is in a difficult situation, trying to prepare for Saturday and managing what is potentially a big hole in his squad.

Phillips has had a big influence in the team but if he went for a decent fee and it allows us to go and get a couple of strikers, it may be a good bit of business.

 

I imagine it’ll take a big fee to get him this window so no doubt this sort of stuff is part of the game plan to unsettle him to try and reduce the price. I suspect similar is going on behind the scenes. Hopefully the club hold firm and continue the precedent they’ve set in recent windows by keeping our best players or getting very good fees, especially as it’s January and we’re in the promotion hunt. Tell Swansea to put up or shut up, they can either afford the asking price or they can’t. Make sure clubs know the days of signing our best players on the cheap are gone.
