    Best Reds side I’ve seen in nearly 60 years of watching.

    Shade it over Danny’s Just Like Watching Brazil team.

    Top quality players, teamwork, skill with a hard edge, defensively strong but a massive attacking threat (including nearly 40 goals a season from midfield). Wingers who could beat players and cross a ball without it hitting the first defender. Strikers who linked up with each other and made life difficult for defenders - and who could score goals. Defenders who could defend and not dick about.

    Jumpers for goalposts, eh? Marvellous.

    The only one I couldnt put a name to was front row RH end, Gordon Boyd. So I looked him up, 2 appearances in 2 yrs, n o wonder I didnt recall.

    That was year Martin New came back from close season about 3 stone overweight,he still looks to have a belly on him there,was soon replaced I think

    My first season as. ST Holder and the first replica shirt I ever owned.
    The atmosphere at games that season was incredible.
