They are painting the shed they used for the half time competition, maybe splashing out on a roof for it
State of the art or 'BFC style' state of the art, where nearly all expense is spared. Also - why are we not referring to him as Jon Flatbread?
A bit of info on here https://images.gc.barnsleyfcservices.co.uk/8fdc9f60-bd62-11ef-9962-afabe92d70b0.pdf
You do seem to have a downer on everything that BFC offer whether on the pitch or off. Lifes a lot happier if you look for the positives. If the fanzone isn't to your taste complain after you've seen it not before.
I was thinking of two people who would be the first with a negative comment, and one of them didn't let me down.
We saw the plans a couple of months ago at the FAB meeting. I must say I was impressed with it. There are two very similar designs. Its a fan zone made of containers in a square with stage and big screen, covered seating, multiple bars and food areas, kids astroturf area, toilets but its not a social club so if people are expecting a brick built indoor venue they are going to be disappointed. I think it will be very good however. I expect the plans will be on the council planning website in the next couple of days.
The issue with an outdoor space is always going to be comfort. That's not me being negative, I'm just being realistic. Anything outdoors will need to be covered and heated, for it to be usable in bad weather.
Sounds like a mini Boxpark. If they do put something together that's even a quarter as good it should be a decent attraction.
If it’s better than the most recent iteration, it’s positive progress isn’t it? It’s not somewhere I’d ever frequent as I’m the sort to rock up at two minutes to kick off, but football clubs need to cater for all sorts.
Several of the brewpubs I use in the Bay Area are assembled out of containers. Usually one for beer storage and one for the bar. Some have additional ones, where the sides open for sheltered seating. They work absolutely fine for the purpose intended.
Very doable, the little electric heaters outside some pubs in smoking areas can be jotted around. A wooden elevated frame above the heat of the containers that can have a detachable tarp like material for rain/snow. It could be good this!
Wasn’t questioning the functionality just the state of the art bit, that clearly wouldn’t be its very George Clarke and has been done in Deedhasvile
Stacked container Fanzone, l don't know who's holding the presenters balls though, he's a bit high pitched
If it's containers and therefore essentially permanent so should be able to open every week with comfortable surroundings then it's a massive plus. If it's the gazebos that were suggested earlier in the season it isn't as good but it sounds like it's the former which is really good news. Yours sincerely, Not the one to post a negative comment
It would make business sense to build something for the away fans, for food and drinks. Thinking on the basis that they are more contained and concentrated at the ground, whereas home fans tend to get something in the town centre. Instead of a home fans zone, they could have done a deal with the council for a town centre based fanzone which operates as a bar throughout the rest of the week / evenings.
