..Clarke can stop talking ***** n’all. ‘We have 5 top CB’s’ is what he said the other day, we’ve let a team who’s GD is -16 score 3 past us. 18th January - we’re still relying on Max ******* Watters as our main striker, it’s 100% neglect at this stage. Not good enough. Not good enough at all.
Who would you sign? genuine interested to know who you'd sign with little to know money, you seem to know the answers, rather than doing your usual posting a thread then not replying, come on who you bringing in ?
Accept the part re the money but in reality we knew we needed a replacement for Cole probably since this time last year.
Agree to an extent but we don't know how many deals fell through the lad from Sweden was a target and that failed late on in the window, if its just a case of fetching players in then that's easy but they have to tick all the boxes around improving us and we can afford them.
That’s not up to me, it’s up to the so called ‘recruitment team’ we have. Clarke said in an interview in early December that the areas were identified regarding strengthening the squad. We knew full well last January Cole & McAtee wouldn’t be here last summer yet we did **** all regarding signing an out-&-out striker then and we’re now 3 weeks into this window still watching gash up top. I fail to see how you think that is acceptable. It’s ******* neglect.
My bad. The result is completely on the board And Clarke And watters And the recruitment team But completely on the board.
We didn't move enough players on in the summer than we perhaps thought, we also lost 4 players that were out of contract that didn't generate any cash for us to replace on a like for like basis, meaning we were and still are shopping at the lower end of the market where lots of clubs are competing for the same player. We lost out on numerous targets who chose other options DC spoke openly about this during August, we then thought we had our man (name alludes me) from Sweden only for that deal to fail very late in the window. You seem to think we have a bag of cash and que of players we can click our fingers at that come running as we are the only club interested in them. I'm not suggesting we are perfect, but we are 1.5 transfer windows into a new manger and DOF, how many transfer windows do you think it takes for a club with our resources to assemble a squad capable of Automatic promotion, should we be out spending Birmingham, Huddersfield and Wrexham? and yet here we are still 5th in the table 27 games in and we have a stinker today but you can't accept us losing a game or even conceding a goal at times without having a complete meltdown.
Self sustainability at this level or above doesn't exist(unless you want to remain at this level). I'm not saying that we would spend the levels of Brum,Wrexham Huddersfield or even Wycombe currently. You could also throw Bolton into that mix.We have owners who are playing FIFA on a budget. The infuriating thing isn't supply but blatantly obvious finishing.Even though our defence can be a bit leaky if we take our early chances the pressures off (game management). Our board have the resources to get us that striker but refuse to spend the money.Alot of the DKD fee came from the Man utd gate receipts. We paid a million quid for Hulme many years ago but that now would be a pipe dream.
They are putting in money as non loans in return for equity, effectively they'll never see that money again unless they sell those shares. They are faced with the daunting task of keeping us afloat by bridging a huge defecit year on year, yet still trying to keep us competative without stripping it completely back on the football side, we've a bigger wage bill than Bolton this season. We are financially insolvent, any other business would be wound up. We've lost a game of football, that's it
While you might not agree with Scott's opinions, he's entitled to share them. It's getting a little sad seeing people jump on him all the time. And I say that whilst disagreeing with some of his points. And his overuse of asterisks.
If he's entitled to share his then people are allowed to share theirs too and if they disagree with his then isn't that how free speech works? You're entitled to say what you want but others are entitled to say that they disagree. Free speech isn't a case of whoever makes the first comment wins
There's never anything positive to say YT no balance, no exceptions, can't concede a goal, can't lose, wants transfer business wrapped up in the blink of an eye, entitled to his opinion certainly, but correct me if I'm wrong bashes the club to death when we lose, hibernation when we win
Whose fault is it we can't move players on. I'll answer that for you the people who decided to go for quantity instead of quality and filled the squad with loads of cheap punts in the hope of improving them to sell at a profit, then employed a coach who can't improve them. We are in the situation we are in with the squad because of decisions made by this board and the people it employs. We are now in the position were we are faced with the prospect of selling Phillips or DKD to fund a striker purchase so selling goals to try and bring in goals and that's down to the people making the decisions.
I don’t deny the truth in what you say. But I always then ask myself ‘why?’ Why are they here? How are they ever going to be able to get out of this vicious circle they find themselves in? As far as I am aware, very few, if any, make money at any level of the game. According to one poster, who appears to have links to the club, they have developed a genuine affection for the club, and the town. Pretty expensive love affair I fear!
