A bit of context to this, he started because they had no-one else available due to the amount of injuries they had. Go & and search Wilder’s interview on FH - so he’s not exactly a regular starter before folk get their hopes up……
Because if this is the sum of over 12 months of scouting & recruitment that we are now resting our season on then I guess I can’t really understand that’s the best option we can find in all that time. Other clubs are signing players who are ready now. Where as this is just someone still learning. Tony scored one goal during his time with us & fletcher 5 so will give you that one that they played a part, none the less it’s still a gamble (which any signing is I guess) again it might turn out to be ballacks anyway. I see sheff Utd have signed Diaz back on loan so I guess this paves the way for someone to move out now.
So using that as a yard stick you wouldn't want somebody like 15 million pound striker Ryan Brewster who was on the bench that day.?
Proven = Money, realistically mate to improve us we'd need to spend money we just ain't got, I hear what your saying but the reality is pretty black and white, was always going to be loan and young, guess we'll have to see
If Wilder thinks he can cut it in the Championship and the reported interest from Liverpool is true, then he’ll do for me.
I don’t understand how anyone can offer a determination of a player’s value without first watching them play for us. As pointed out yesterday, there was a thread when Cosgrove signed with every poster reacting positively. We all know where we are lacking. The club haven’t once openly said it, but I imagine they know too. So all we can do is hope that they get someone through the door in the next couple of weeks.
100% you’d have Brewster, tried & tested. Maybe a loan would re-start his career. We’ve been down the route with the young loan players before…
I wouldn't dispute that all I was pointing out is against Watford Wilder chose One over Brewster for the starting 11.
A lot of high praise for him from Hamilton when he signed for United. 6'5 and deceptively quick. Good with the ball at his feet. Already a better option than Cosgrove and Marsh. Will need to see him play before making any judgement. A low risk gamble.
No we don't, we need to look at his age and write him off completely based on no other information, it's the Barnsley way.
Aye, the sites I've found have him as being anywhere between 5ft 9 and 6ft 2. Looking at the pictures of him, I'd say it's closer to the latter.
