    1. Clint Marcelle
    Just for that goal more than anything else. Will go down in history as the man who clinched promotion.

    2. Heinz Muller
    In my period of being a Barnsley fan, I’ve not seen a GK as good as Heinz. Dominated his area and some outstanding individual performances. Shame about his injury as it really wasn’t the same afterwards.

    3. Arjan De Zeeuw
    Was a toss up between him and Anderson Da Silva. The fee we paid for an unknown centre back from Telstar ended up being a bargain. Had a fantastic debut and turned out to be a fantastic player for us as well as other clubs.

    Not the best but honourable mentions for Anderson De Silva, Emil Hallfreðsson and Bogdanovic although the latter left in an unsavoury fashion.

    Amazed Denis Souza never gets a mention in these discussions, seemed to win man of the match every week in that period circa 2008-2010. solid in the air, good on the floor was just a shame he wasn't a yard or too quicker.

    Fantastic goal record for us, 45 in 105. And every other club he played for. More than 1 every 2 games during his career. 217 in 425.

    During my time. There have been some fantastic foreign players.
    The most outstanding. Beating British contenders as well. Muller.
    Only Foreigner, given a spot in my all time BFC Xl. Team.

    Jan Aga and De Zeeuw probably my other 2 of 3.
