    We must also presume that if we bring him in we definitely won't be bringing in someone more experienced with the EFL as a striker before the end of the transfer window.

    Dane Scarlett has been recalled by Spurs because of lack of game time at Oxford, do you think he is worth a shout or will we be knocked back because of the Craig loan

    He looks like quite a big lad with decent mobility. You’d probably want a better goal record but he’s 18, he might come alive with us. Granted he might not but I don’t mind the move if it does happen.

    Reckon if we can somehow offload Cosgrove we might bring two in. I’d be happy with One as one if that was the case as long as the other had more experience.

    Brewster has 5 goals in 90 appearences for Sheffield utd, that's £3m per goal, is that your definition of tried and tested ?

    This lad is extremely highly thought of, quick and powerful just the type of player who can play off the shoulder and hurt teams, I've absolutely no doubt he'd be a success at L1 level

    This is the pool we have to fish in - loans of younger lads from up the chain and cheaper punts from lower and non-league - and to be fair, why not have a look?

    I’m not criticising a signing before it happens.

    It could be an Ashley fletcher or it could be an Ike Ugbo - and even the latter has gone on to be ok (decent goalscoring record abroad, started ok at Wednesday until they actually bought him but now absolute bobbins - fine by me!!!) - so it might be exactly what we need. Bit of youthful exuberance.

    Exactly. I know it's a different division, but Walsall took Nathan Lowe on loan on the strength of academy football and 14 sub appearances at Stoke. He's gone back to Stoke having scored 15 in 22.

    The other alternative is slightly older out of form players from championship clubs, and the current crop of those we have aren't exactly setting the world alight.

    The blunts do have a pretty successful academy set up at the moment too, producing some very good players of late.

    Peck, One, Siriki and Brooks are all young lads from their academy that have had plenty of game time this season and done well.

    And there is obviously Arblaster who had a superb loan in L1 last season and is now the club captain.
