Totally agree that coverage of the US is way over the top. A sort of cultural imperialism fanned by the adulation of the major broadcasters.
It's pretty amusing how several folk on here who consider themselves liberals turn into angry, mouth-foaming xenophobes the second the USA is mentioned.
Totally agree let em get on with it, an lets let a lot more countries get on with their own affairs, the World might be a lot nicer place.
I'm not a fan of the USA for a whole range of reasons that are completely subjective and I won't bore anyone with. I think the issue is fairness and balance and genuine topical interest. There are things happening across the world and no doubt in the countries of our nearest neighbours that are just not getting reported at all because of an almost 24 hour desire of our main stream media to report some really odd stuff from the US. I'm fine with hearing news from America that's in balance with this nation. Just as i want to hear about the EU, about our neighbours in Europe and the world further afield. I don't think anyone can objectively look at news over the last few weeks, probably longer and say it has been balanced in its weight and coverage for the viewers of the UK in relation to America.
That’s all well and good if you’re ’getting on with it’ doesn’t negatively affect others. I’m afraid Trump is going to arrempt to bulldoze his ways around the world. It’ll end in tears, just hope they’re mostly his
The problem there is it's everyone's affairs when one self serving evil ******* rips up a collective agreement to reduce climate change. As much as the idea of leaving everyone else to their own devices sounds lovely the reality is we have to live on this rock with them and all feel the repercussions of their actions. On issues that don't directly effect us I still believe we have a moral obligation to do the right thing. Should we leave Russia to get on with it and wipe out Ukraine for example? If so should I personally stand by and watch my neighbour attack his wife? I get that there's some things that we shouldn't interfere with and some that we should but I honestly don't know where that line is but I know we all have a moral obligation to stand up for what's right
The lunatics have taken over the asylum again. If you think Trump Mk1 was bad just wait while Elon bond villain Musk joins the party you ain't seen nothing yet.
So they showed that orange skinned, nappy wearing, shít spouting twát on BBC 1 and ITV 1 so no The Chase today. ITV should have screened it on ITVBe with the rest of the shîte they show on there.
I hear that one of the executive orders he’s signing is to get Barnsley playing with white shorts at home again
Refused to watch it, in spite of it being rammed down our throats on all mainstream channels. I’m sure we don’t have that level of coverage of our own political events! As for USA I have no interest in visiting there again. I find it incomprehensible that a country of that power could only find those 2 candidates as the option.
Terrifying times we're heading into. There should be torrents of global shame, that this is the best the grown ups could muster, for their kids, grandkids and beyond.
Yes, Will just showed me that. I was determined that I’m not paying any attention to Trump this time around, he took over everything for 4 years last time, but Will saw it and mentioned it.
