I’ve managed to get one for Stockport, but missing out on Rotherham. As a disabled persons helper I don’t have my own season ticket or history, and this is one of the rare occasions where the stars align unfavourably. It’s out of my control. Telly for me!
I decided to go to Rotherham and watch Stockport on TV. Been to both grounds before anyway to watch us, so picked the local derby. Our next Saturday away game after Rotherham is Mansfield which I will hopefully get to and that will be another sell out. Wigan and Birmingham after that. Leyton Orient on Good Friday and Reading last regular season game, so plenty of possible trips yet to make.
I’ve been to all the distant aways up to now, with the exception of Cambridge, so Crawley, Exeter, Stevenage, Peterborough, Shrews, Bristol, Wrexham etc and have tickets for Northampton and Wycombe, so it feels a bit weird to miss out on a local derby.
I didn’t think it would get to Tuesday when I saw what choice I had Friday. Let’s hope we back them to another away win.
Yeah, similar to Stockport, we haven’t played them for over 20yrs. Anyone under a certain age won’t have been so demand will be high. Even our last trip to Rotherham was about 8 yrs ago, so similar situation.
Just looking at Rotherham’s average gates. NY Stadium holds just over 12k, and their biggest attendance of the season was 10400 against Huddersfield. Would be nice if they gave us a few more.
They're hitting a bit of form though so I imagine home interest for a SY derby will be highest it's been this season. Be amazed if they give us any more.
Yeah I thought that after I’d posted mate. Could be their biggest crowd of the season. Firestick for me!
