    Not that one.

Hallam v Sheffield tonight in the Sheffield Senior Cup. “Oldest competitive game in the world” supposedly. Crowd of 1400 expected.

Got to say I do enjoy going up to Hallam. Supporters always get a warm welcome. It’s a good atmosphere and certainly a more family orientated environment than some league games. Not there tonight but I’m interested in the outcome.

    Tonight

The world's oldest derby match returns as Hallam FC take on Sheffield Football Club at the world's oldest football ground, Sandygate, in the Men's Senior Cup quarter-final.

It's 164 years since the sides first played each other at the same venue, and they'll meet again tonight in front of a sell-out crowd of 1,496.

Whoever makes it through to the semi-final will be up against strong competition. Other clubs still in the Senior Cup include Emley AFC, Barnsley FC U21s, Hemsworth Miners Welfare FC, Maltby Main, Stocksbridge Park Steels FC and the cup holders, Worksop Town.

Went to Emley last season to watch Hallam. Nice set up. Friendly. Good Bar/ cafe.
Decent view from the stand - but yes, wrap up.!

A great night Capacity 1496 official attendance. Nice bar one handpump-Bradfield Farmers Blonde
Hallam by far the better side even though one league below Sheffield FC-whose ground is in Dronfield ???
Good banter from Hallam fans especially to there goalie-who wasn't great! 2-1 to Hallam but could have been 5 with better finishing.
I'd like to see them against Barnsley U21's if they can beat Emley tonight to gauge how good both teams are :)

Wherever you go in non league you'll get a similar welcome and atmosphere fired.
It's a world apart from the greed and cynicism of the "professional" game.

Yes, that's my experience. We go to a fair few Non League games now as it's something that we can do together without falling out! Watched Hallam mainly, but also Handsworth, Shelley, Penistone, and done a few away trips to South Liverpool, Goole, Belper, Matlock, etc. Always a pleasant day out. Obviously less invested in it than when watching Barnsley, but a bad result doesn't hurt so badly either.
