I like the way 'large screens' is in bold just in case you thought you were going to see Galopin Des Champs gunning it down the shale track.
What do you get for your £25? If it's just entry I'll leave my tweed jacket at home and just go to the bookies and my local. Spend the £25 on beer.
I was thinking exactly the same what do you get for 25 quid, a seat at a table in a place that has a bar. Don't think anyone's local will be charging to sell you drinks and watch the racing on terrestrial tele.
If this is £25 just to get in then I think they don't understand the local area very well and it's not been thought out, Cheltenham is a free to air event, I can't see people paying £25 to watch a free to air event just on a bigger screen, doesn't make sense. If they are looking to increase revenue from using the bar facilities fair enough but shouldn't be charging a £25 entry fee, or you'd have thought for £25 it would have been a package including food etc. Absolute dead rubber
I wonder if they've just forgot to include the food details? Advertising a table of ten suggests there should be food on said table,no?
You would think so otherwise it makes no sense but definitely no mention in the article. Been a bit of a **** up from the start there was mention of it in the article Flatman did in the chronicle on the 17th but it's just been announced. Sometimes you think they are running a multi million pound business but can't get the basics right doesn't fill you with confidence does it
You can actually get into Donny races on the same day for less than that. And watch the Gold Cup while you’re there on their screens.
Yes, it's a terrible ad. Am not knocking the club for initiative, but once again atrocious point of sale. If it was obvious £25 included food and (a) drink, folk would know the deal. But if this is a case of "£25 in / food & drink available" then it wouldn't entice me. As others have said, there are cheaper ways of watching the racing.
So it's been up for 10 hours and still hasn't been corrected to explain what you actually get despite people highlighting just how bad the ad is. Also is there one large screen or many? I don't speak gibberish so don't know what "a large screens" means
I am not at all into bashing the club and am in favour of any initiative that grabs another revenue stream for the club/business. We’ve had the Callum Simpson fight with the possibility of another on a bigger scale, and we would all love to see a well known band play live at Oakwell. But this….THIS….what the hell is it? Because if you break it down in simple terms it says ‘put your suit on and come and watch our big telly for 25 quid’. They haven’t even suggested that they will have a bookmaker on site so you will have to place your bets on your phone or leg it up to Ladbrokes in your suit! Well done to the club for trying but this is utter rubbish. Anyone want to watch it at mine on my medium sized telly? No suit required and I will even make you a cheese sandwich. Call it a tenner.
