There is a (non) striking similarity between Havertz and Watters. Both are crap in the air. Both are good at on the floor build up play. Both get into good goal scoring positions. Both are shocking finishers. And now both can manage to get in the way so as to have goals chalked off. I wonder if both are to find themselves upgraded by the end of January.
I know a lot of Arsenal fans defend him to the death, but he really isn't good enough. He's a decent premier league player, with good link up as you say. His finishing is shocking compared to other 'elite' strikers. Arteta brought him in to replace Xhaka and play more as a midfielder, clearly that hasn't worked out, so I think he's feeling a bit of pressure because it's not been going great for him. Watching some fan channels is quite amusing though, it's like a split, half want rid and other half backs him. They really could use Gyokores, Osimhen, Sesko or even Vlahovic (despite having a relatively poor season). The other striker Arteta fetched in in Jesus isn't a brilliant finisher either, and I think they've squandered their chances of a premier league title due to it. I know they've scored a tonne of goals in last 2 years but you can tell the quality is lacking now without Saka and a natural finisher, especially with the drop off in form from Martinelli & Odegaard
I think he’s a good player. He plays well for Arsenal. Is he what they need in a centre forward no but that’s a different question
Id have a little bet with you on that one to charity. That photo appears to be in a forest shirt. After his first spell with us. And When he signed for forest, that was the first thing cloughie told him to do. (In fact made him do) "Get an haircut son" when he arrived with long hair. He was a strict disciplinarian. On how players represented his club. As opposition fans often jibed players with long hair. No idea re his second spell tbh. Other than he may have decided to keep it short after leaving forest. And keeping it short at Oldham btw.. B4 returning. First spell. https://images.app.goo.gl/Ltm2h46ff4x5rb6j6
Explain this then warrior!, taken a week or so before he signed for forest in January 1990.. ........sithi.
Got me there mate. My flabber is gasted Fair enough. My contribution is on it's way to a charity of your choice lol. As you say Machin signed in december currie left in january. I must have a word with the forest player or the writer of cloughies biography who made me c0ck sure. Serves me right.
No worries chief donate to whoever you like As for Curries syrup, I recall it being in the comical at the time about Melvin telling Currie to get his hair cut ........sithi.
I think Curries copybook was blotted by parking his purple Capri in Clough’s parking space and showboating his skills during training. Neither went down well with Brian so Currie was sold ! Mark Crossley tells the story brilliantly
He tried a flick just before half-time in a match and the opposition scored. Clough was so incensed he subbed him and didn't put a replacement on. They were better with ten men lol.
Mark was the player I had in my mind. lol. His tales of cloughs view on Gary Megson. (Or the biography lol.) "Couldn't trap a medicine ball" His view on Carl Tyler wasn't very complimentary either. Said he wished he'd gone and scouted himself. And not recommendation.
