My new favourite in Scarborough. I went last June when it hadn't long opened and was impressed. Great views of the sea if you get a window seat too.
Nice if you get recognition but there will be loads of cracking chippys out there which dont get the plaudits. How is this list compiled? As a slight aside I always think the best chippys tend to be on the coast. Whitby, Scarborough etc. Maybe its fresher fish or the sea air which contributes. The seagulls can be twa.ts of course.
Agree I’ve been to quite a few Indians in the South and always find them sub standard compared to Yorkshire and Birmingham
They are crap opening times but Excellent large haddock, large chips and large curry sauce. £9.95, bargain
Barnsley used to have the best chippy there was ( in my opinion)...Mortons on Wellington Street...when the old man ran it that is...it went downhill when they put carpets in and put un chip shop stuff on the menu.
I've always had good curries in Leeds, Bradford and Birmingham. Hit and miss around Holmfirth, same where I grew up in Wakefield. Never had a bad curry around Willesden Green, Kilburn, Queens Park area of London.
They are hit and miss but Blackpool is excellent. Always seems to be a wedding party in there with the wedding Chappel on the prom being across the road from it 100 yards away. Scarborough is good but since the pandemic haven't reopened the upstairs restaurant, so it's takeaway or nothing. Crystal Peaks in Sheffield is really good. Whitby was average but is now a Wendy's.
