Whenever you watch clips of that era it's amazing seeing how many men are running off ball and how many options they've got. Just mint.
I hate that people don't run in football anymore. Everyone is so obsessed with the boring anti football chess game that is taught in classrooms in st George's park that football as we know it is practically dead
It's also 30 years today that Eric Cantona kicked Crystal Palace fan Matthew Simmons, who will have enjoyed the fame he got himself ever since. Bet that makes you feel old.
Exactly. So much more energy and movement on the pitch and how that feeds into the way the crowd reacts and the atmosphere it generates.
Tbh when Ive watch the prem this season I feel like every game is played at 100mph. Think one of the reasons city have been so bad this season is because of lack of physicality in midfield
Every time I go in Eaden's, I tell Nicky this is my favourite ever goal. He's definitely fed up of me telling him. It's a proper football goal.
You're right, this season is different - with City and other teams actually. I enjoy watching Bournemouth (how exciting to watch is Antoine Semenyo btw - completely different player to the one at Bristol City when we used to play them a few years back in the Championship) and Brighton. I still think Pep was the biggest factor behind the sideways and backwards football we've seen so much in recent years.
And yet I never tire of watching them. I can't imagine any other player capable of it, before or since.
