I know that but loads hold their leg after a challenge and dont get subbed. His substitution came as a surprise to us sat together in ESL so I was a touch bewildered at the suggestion it was enforced.

 

Ta. We just thought the coach was wanting to change something. Certainly didnt think it was enforced.

 

Gets away with alot being a local lad. He's not good enough for what we are trying to achieve. We dis better whilst he was injured and it wasn't a coincidence.

 

He gets the wrong side of players too often for an experienced defender but does offer great strength in the air.

 

I couldn't remember physio coming on either then if she did! But yes listening to commentary aswell, said it was enforced due to injury.

Enforced to the point of taking him off, still think we should have changed system a bit mate.

 

At first I understood bringing Hourihane back and honestly thought he would regularly play and be the captain. After all he had just played a full season at Derby. I think the board got a bit giddy with Roberts thinking another one to interest the fans. Unfortunately we haven’t got anything near the player that left us.

 

Went off, looked like cramp not unexpexted needs time to adjust. While he was playing looked a good addition to the first team.

 

Now a 3 game.ban because that won't get overturned

 

Even if it wasn't a red, he deserves a red for being so stupid to go in like that in that area of the pitch - when half the ball is already out!!

I'd have to agree poor player now lost his pace, poor on the ball. He's not alone though clear our needed.

 

Yet he’s still our best centre half at the club.

 

Bradford have got a decent centre half, they're raving about him. Think he's on loan....

 

I'm not maels biggest fan but he's probably the best defender we have, he's not perfect and has made the odd **** up this season but imo he would be the 1st defender I'd pick followed by Earl.

 

I don’t buy that he’s past it. It took him a month or so to get going at the start of the season but Roberts was our best defender from then until his injury.

He’s been poor in his last 3 appearances there’s no doubt but I don’t think he’s suddenly lost it. I think the sending off was more frustration about the award of a very soft penalty against us.

 

I don't think he had a great night last night, but he wasn't as bad as is being made out. He got an unjustified red, made a bizarre clearance that put us under pressure, but he did a lot right.

If you took note of the positions he was in, he was both left, right and centre of the 3 centre halves at some stage. There's something wrong if that's happening and it's little wonder we're shipping goals every game because our best defender is being pulled all over the place covering for poor discipline.

Until we get the boring stuff right like structure, shape, transition and work out what our actual tactics are, we're not going to succeed regularly.

We've a weak, imbalanced squad for sure, but... We could still look much better from effective coaching.
