Best team won as we were hanging on for long periods and goals for Wickham always were always on the cards. After Phillips missed that sitter we all knew what was going to happen..

Can we now please stop with this myth that McCarthy is a better option than any of our other centre halves. He was poor on Saturday, and has cost us 2 points tonight.

Whilst people have been banging on about signing a striker for the last month, it's been glaringly obvious that up front is secondary on our list of priorities to at least 1 centre half who has a bit of pace and doesn't constantly get caught the wrong side of his man every time the ball comes on his direction.

I think it was quite clear in the last 20 minutes that Humphrys was out on his feet. Had we got a half decent striker on the bench, I think he'd have been hooked.

 

It’s all just becoming too predictable. Stupid defensive mistakes in every game. The amount of goals conceded so late on is so worrying. I can’t see this team finishing anywhere near the playoffs - they’re just too inconsistent.

Don’t hang a guy out to dry who has only been on the pitch a short time. There are a team full of others who were out there for most of the match who were much worse than him. where was pines when that cross came in?? nowhere same as he has been all night.

Can’t disagree with this at all but would add, for me there is a bigger issue in Midfield with the shape, it’s none existent and causes issues both ends.
When I look at both the midfield and defence I keep thinking they need to go old school with the coaching George Graham style with the players tied to ropes etc.

Decision making dreadful from top to bottom all over the team/staff. Clarke has been dealt a poor hand in players from the board. Think we are as bad up front as I’ve known. All that said, we’re still miles off and players are making really poor decisions. Baffles me why one of our best players is on the bench week in week out. Most teams would be building the side around a Nwakali, Clarke doesn’t bother picking him

 

About 8 clubs at least chasing 2 spots. Let’s not kid ourselves, we aren’t good enough by some distance.
Some big decisions to make squad wise to try and build for next season I reckon. Be tough to sell season tickets too if we continue this poor run.
