    Gereral idea:

    Ben's done OK, but we're always looking to improve all areas of the pitch, and Gauci seen as an improvement. Replacement for Slonina, who didn't work out. Plan for this season was always to send Jackson Smith out on loan to league 2, hopeful we can find him a club before the window closes to further his development.

    Plates spinning for a few other incomings. Glass half full in terms of confidence in players coming in.

    Mael could be back for the weekend. Possibility of Humphrys and Farrugia too, both being assessed. Watters will probably miss the weekend.

    I guess the club must think the priority is to strengthen the area first. It sounds like we tried in the summer to send him out too.

    It makes it doubly disappointing if the player we think we want to develop is getting zero football for a whole year. It can't be difficult to find him some football. But you also have to question his signing in the first place if he's so far away from first team football in league 1.
