There's a video going around of him leaving the Etihad last night in his car. He slows down to give his City shirt to a young fan, but changes his mind when he realises he's wearing a Wednesday jacket. Obviously, he had a couple of seasons with the Blades. Isn't it a bit petty? As an aside, when did it become normalised to effectively beg for football shirts. Every televised game these days appears to have a host of signs asking for shirts. I saw a video the other week from a Man Utd game, where one of the media team gave a young lad a shirt, only for him to give it back because it had Garnacho's name on it and he didn't want his shirt. Entitlement is getting a little out of hand.
I find it strange that you’d take your child or anyone for that matter to another team wearing different club colours.
The thing that really boils my piss is that most of these signs don't say "please". But yes it's all a nonsense and should be ridiculed.
Good on him. You see the begging from kids at Oakwell at full time shouting at players for their shirt, it's embarrassing. I don't think players should give autographs. Too many professional sellers around.
I’ve taken my lad to the footy since he was 6, and his sister before him and it’s not something I would have encouraged them to do. However, it occasionally gives us a laugh, like when a kid took a sign to Newcastle away. I hope it was a player with extremely good eyesight, although even then he would have had to see through the cloud cover.
