..that’s what you’ve said every week DC when straight batting the Q’s from the Media so no we’ll judge; -sold a keeper contracted to the club to get a loan signing in? -signed a LWB that was needed that got injured straight away. -We needed a new CB; didn’t happen. -An injury to a RB, loaned out a RB to bring in a RB; meh…. -No midfielders signed. Managed to retain the top earner at the club in Josh Benson when you’ve actively been trying to get rid all window… -Loaned out Marsh, Dallas & Cosgrove to a promotion rival to bring in a striker you’ve searched on Football Manager. We’ve also lost Jalo & Watters to injury. all loan players & not a single penny spent. We’re in a worse position than we were at the start of this window, that’s the worst transfer window of my lifetime. 1.5/10 - all together at Stockport on Saturday ‘get out of our club, get out of our club’ etc. etc.
Whilst I object to your perpetual misery, this window has piled pressure On Clarke and the squad. Fingers crossed we go on a run...
Alternatively.... Got a fee for a keeper we wouldn't have in the summer. Brought in on loan the number 2 to the best keeper in the world. A club in the PL, playing in the Champions League. Signed a full back with experience in the leagues above us. Got a player from the French second division which worked out well last time. Got three strikers off the wage bill who aren't good enough. We can't force clubs to take Benson off us. It's an hard sell when he's probably our highest earner and injury prone. 6.5/10. Another point if we announce another striker.
I realise you are fishing and I am the first one to bite but for the sake of your own sanity why don't you find another more ambitious club to follow that will be worthy of your constant positivity
There isn’t a chance on earth that Joe Gauci is Villa’s number two. I doubt he was even third choice. If you honestly think the window has gone as well as that then I have few words to reply with.
Worst transfer window of your lifetime? How old are you 2? I’d say is uninspiring but I remember many window when we lost good players. We’ve not lost anyone of note except possibly Killip. But he’s no Muller or even Davies I’d say we are marginally better off but unless the new striker turns into a Morris or Moore we will struggle to get top 6
Are you happy right now? If so it can't be over football. Have you got Ariana Grande sucking your winkle lol
He’s their third choice apparently. Robin Olsen is the backup. 72 caps for Sweden, played at the World Cup, Euros etc.
Ariana Grande shares my birthday, Jun 26. So at least that's my claim to fame tonight, after yet another miserably poor January window.
Marginally better off. How? Going back to the 70s that’s the worst forward line I’ve ever seen at Oakwell and I once saw Brendan O’Connell play as a lone striker.
16 Jan 2025 — I always say this, let's judge our business at the end of the window. For me, it's about working hard with my players.
In fairness, there's not much left to lose that we'd be bothered about. Phillips? That's about it and he'll be gone in the summer. Almost all our good players, ones worth any money potentially, have gone. So it's basically impossible to have a bad window by losing good players.
I know that Scott gets a lot of stick on here, and being honest, you're pretty negative However, hard to disagree with much of this to be honest. The squad gets weaker, every window that goes by, we've needed a striker that can finish and one that can hold the ball up (well) for ages, not one has been brought in that fits the bill. Agents don't want to send players to us as they know we're a mess, no-one at the club knows how to operate the transfer market properly etc. I genuinely think that moving forward, there's more chance of fighting relegation than promotion next season, and I'd be surprised if we even finish top half now. Phillips is probably the only player of genuine quality that we have, and even he goes missing half the time. Telling that no Championship clubs have taken a punt even on him yet. Long, difficult period ahead, and no doubt a new head coach again before the season is out. Likely a worse one than Clarke. Very much hope I'm wrong.
