If Rodrigues does play out wide its time to play Humphreys in the role we signed him for as a number 9.

Humphrys isn't a number 9 though. Thats the problem

I'm not quite sure what he is. But hopefully this new lad is an improvement

Imho...I'm not convinced we can play anything other than a 3 or 1 plus 2 up top....we simply don't have a holding number nine on our books.
Is this a sign of a formation change? ....its either that ot terrible recruitment.

Did wonder if we were going to go with a 4231 with DKD wide left, Rodrigues wide right, Phillips as the No:10 behind Humphrys with Connell, Russell & Nwakali competing for the 2 CM spots, back 4 choose from Dexter Lembikisa/okeefe as RB with CB's from Pines/Roberts/Earl and LB's Gent/Farrugia.

The full backs wouldn't be ideal although Lembikisa has played as an outright RB, think you'd still see overlapping fullbacks with 1 of the 2 CM's acting as a very deep anchor infront of the 2 CB's.

It would probably work but there's nothing of depth to come off the bench for the final 3rd of the pitch other than Jalo/watters when fit and Dyer.
