Our main financial backer is reported to be a billionaire. You don't get rich by throwing your money about. They say they are pumping money into the club to keep it afloat. There is little money for recruitment and as others have said we seem to be on a downward spiral as opposed to a few years ago. You have to ask the question as to why these owners are still here ?, what's in it for them?. It's like me being extremely wealthy and buying into a club in the German third division who I have no affiliation with.I visit the club maybe twice per year and allegedly pump money into it to keep it solvent.I have no intention of adding to my financial backing for recruitment. You have to ask yourself why ? something just doesn't add up for me.
'We work within a budget here'. We spent all the money on DKD & Humphries on the last day of August & we've nowt left. It's simple.
The main financial backer is not a billionaire, there is no accurate reporting or evidence of this being the case. They are putting money into the club, it is fact based and reflected in financial accounts. By all means ask why they are doing what they are doing though.
No Dyson your not getting my question.I know we work to a budget that's enforced by the owners but why are they here and what's in it for them ?
Neerav Parekh's portfolio and holdings As per corporate shareholdings filed for December 31, 2024, people matching Neerav Parekh publicly holds 2 stocks with a net worth of over Rs 631.0 Cr. That equates to 63 million quid. So I agree not as wealthy as some would have us believe. So I'll go back to my original point why is he/they here ?
Haven't seen anyone claiming the loss Cosgrove was on par to losing Harry Kane....or even a half hearted Herbie for that matter. I have seen lots of folk gobsmacked that we shipped out another striker, albeit a useless one, and replaced him with a kid who was effectively playing in the french non league a year ago. No net increase in strikers when we needed atleast two more is the issue, not losing Cosgrove.
I see that interview as Sormaz's blow across the bows of DC. We had DC with the first shot, effectively saying "recruitments been a joke, I'm off to scour for anyone who used to be a footballer"..... Now we have Sormaz saying "this is what you've got, no uncertainty now, stop whinging, get on with it and get us promoted or else". I'm guessing it's a tad frosty between the 2 of them.
Is that it? 43 seconds to go through the aims and objectives of Barnsley FC.... Get rid, I've seen enough
Humphreys was a free transfer. Dont forget that Cole Kane and Williams all left on frees and we're big earners plus the transfer fee for Styles from WBA. And aren't we still getting installments for Kitching?
Free transfer last minute = big dough on wages signing on fee etc. Wouldn't surprise me if he's our highest earner by a way. They all left on a free - which means we got worse and needed replacing. All probably on money agreed 4 years ago in some cases too. We're still losing money despite the player sales weve had. All in all, we're on a bit of a spiral financially and its gonna take time to sort out.
Car crash of an interview last time an interview was this bad we found out the perpetuater in question didn't sweat. Feel sorry for Lewis having to put his name to that interview.
I wonder if we had someone lined up, done and dusted, but then someone dropped an administrative error somewhere?
Tbh it came across that way to me as well. He's come out and not only defended the window, but also said promotion remains the target with the squad we have. If Clarke gets this squad promoted, he'll be up there as one of the best managers we've ever had. He sacked Collins on the last game before the play-offs, and it feels to me like he's already setting his stall out to pull the trigger again. If we finish the season poorly, for me it should be Sormaz picking up his P45, not Clarke.
