Would either of these be worth a punt?

I'd rather we didn't go down the free agent route. The club have DKD, Humphrys and Rodrigues for the next few weeks. Then Watters will be back. Loads of young strikers in the academy too. Plus, Phillips could definitely play off one of the others, with Benson now fit and ready to step into midfield.

Wickham is 31-years-old and has started about 30 games of football in five years.

Waghorn is four years older than that and has already had an unproductive short spell at Northampton this season.

    No thanks.

Definitely don’t want Waghorn. If he was still any good Northampton would’ve kept him on. Fact Wickham is still free says loads about his fitness.
If we do take on a free agent (which I don’t think we will) it ideally needs to be someone who’s been playing and their contract has just run down.

Then there's keemar roofe always injured. Just give jalo a chance when he's back or even dyer. These players like roofe, waghorn, Wickham, gayle are either made of glass and/or just coming for one last pay day no thanks.

Jalo isn’t back while April and Watters is made of biscuit. He’s not back until well into March and how long before he breaks down again?
I agree about the free agents, it’s not a viable option. Shouldn’t have come to that though, loads of young strikers have been available for loan that would have increased our options for the rest of the season.

We've failed in this window. Getting a body in for the sake of it doesn't undo that and only adds to our cost base. Play the kids. Its invaluable experience to be in and around the first team. They might not be ready, but they must surely be eager.

We should not even be in this situation.

We shouldn't have to be in this position, but if we are to go for a free agent the main one to get for me is Joao.

Only 31 and has at least played some games this season.

Roofe is a decent player but more of what we already have, a player who can play up top but better suited wide/attacking mid.

Waghorn is very much past his best. Wickham was unbelievably good as a young player but been majorly hampered by injuries

Personally I would let the academy lads have a crack.

If we don't, then we really are in a position of questioning it's viability

Roofes made of glass hasn't had a club since rangers has he? Like others have said I'd rather we play the kids. The sort of signings remind me of Leroy lita

Yeah not had a club since summer when he left rangers.

Main issue with him for me is that he's not an out and out number 9 so not really what we'd need either. Regardless of fitness/injury issues

I would argue that we've failed in 3 out of the last 4 windows which compounds the issue.
