The boos were for Nwakali being taken off, not Connell coming on. Speaking of Nwakali he hasn't took his chance with his first start against one of the better sides. Back to the bench against Huddersfield.
If board are interested they would sack clarke and mladen shortly, if they aren't interested then need to sell up
Stockport haven’t had to do much there. They’re solid at the back and wait for us to make a mistake. Absolutely no resilience from us, miskicking balls and falling on the floor, it’s a comedy show and so annoying to watch. A better team might have 45 mins where they don’t click but they’ll ride it out and get in at 0-0, but we’re not there at all. Probably needs to change the shape 2nd half just to see if it gives us anything.
We've been upgraded to 1 shot now on the half-time stats. Presumably the cross from Russell that vaguely approached the goal.
Some of the comments on here are unreal, but I suppose entirely predictable from the same old voices. Just a few hours ago, pretty much everyone agreed that DC has been completely shafted by recruitment, and were berating Sormaz for his 'interview'. Come kick off, normal service is resumed. Clarke will get sacked, Sormaz will pin all the blame on him and we'll end up even worse than we were due to compo. The next manager will then be given half a season, before people start demanding he's sacked. On repeat.
Its dead in this away end. It was even before rhey scored, and loads have left to the pub now. I think theyve got a massive shock coming when they do early bird
You can be unsupported by recruitment and still have a manager be totally inept. I can't see how you can struggle with this concept. Do you honestly think this is as good as we can be witb the available resources?
This. We all know the biggest issue is the board. But that doesn't mean the coaching staff gets a free ride for delivering the same dross each week. Stockport were L2 last season, and a lot of the side currently battering us played with them in L2 last season. The bench we have today is shocking, but the starting players available are more than good enough to deliver more than we are seeing. A lot of that falls on management as it's the same naive tactics each week
Imho...that was a very poor half of football from us. We look totally out of sorts and of course we have defenders....who just can't defend!. I know he has gone for a different formation, which is brave but our players just look sooooo poor. We definitely lack confidence thats for sure...not sure what the hell Pines is doing for the first...he didn't need to make that (ahem) tackle and he should know that. A very poor transfer period for us has left us in an even bigger mess. No shots and we look like we dont know what we are doing. I think another very comfortable afternoon for our opposition...I'm hoping we can just keep the score down.
especially as we’ve brought in, and I quote “4 players with really specific qualities, from good levels” which out of everything said this particular comment really wound me up, - really good levels? He’s talking about an u21, the Irish league and French ligue 2 (which is possibly conference level?) is he trying to be deliberately combative to the people criticising ? Is he taking the mick or is he Just throwing out sound bites without thinking - or does he really believe it? / which if he does he needs sacking.
I've seen nothing at all to suggest Clarke has set us up to get anything more than a 0-0. Which for a team with our defensive inability is mind bendingly stupid. Now we're 2-0 down at HT, I suspect it'll be damage limitation and we'll continue to sit back and probably concede another couple as a result. I sincerely hope I'm wrong but that first half has left me utterly bereft of any hope for us.
Our new shiny all out wonder striker has been subbed off for a left back at half time in his debut. Reds.
