What do you expect, signing players with no EFL experience before signing for us. Another **** up by the recruitment team
I can understand why we went for him, big, athletic & played at a semi decent standard, in the mould of Dike, but a centre back. unfortunately it hasn’t worked out, the guy simply isn’t good enough to play professional football, in this country anyway. Easy decision for the board in June, terminating his contract.
I'd let him go I'm starting to have serious doubts over josh earl aswell. He's like a slug ball watching then dives in and gives away a pen. I'd like to say I'm looking forward to Marc coming back... but I'm not really either.
I don’t blame the board for him though. Dike worked out very well for us. Pines not so much. You can’t win them all, and we shouldn’t forget that. He seems a cracking bloke too, but he’d be better in L2. Or, play him up front - he can score!
Please stop with the EFL experience. One of the best strikers in the league has no professional experience at all, even high up non league stuff. There is enough experience in this side who have played in the EFL.
Lack of EFL experience has nothing to do with it, it's just his inability to do the basics irrespective of what league(s) he has or hasn't played in
He's good in the air and dangerous from set pieces, but as an actual defender he's been very disappointing for me. Let's not forget though, the start that Mads Andersen had for us.
I like Donovan but ultimately he's not up to the standard required. Sadly, all of our big central defenders are below par in one way or another.
In this league as a player I'm not sure you need much experience look at Bristol rovers and Rotherham have players with loads of experience old heads that some on here clamour over. With a head coach I'm not so sure I think there was many better candidates than Collins who was linked to league 2 Walsall before us.
He’d struggle in the National League North. That first goal looked bad in the ground but just seen it back. Crikey….a goal from a nothing ball. He’s a liability.
I love him as a person, but agree he's not up to the standard, however if we don't retain him I think he is Taylor made for a half decent division two club.
I was gutted for him when he made the mistake for their goal because you know the stick that he's going to get, he was playing well up to that point and like you say he seems to care and is a decent bloke. It's just a shame that none of our so called good players could have any impact on the game to help dig him out of his hole.
The decision not to recall Shepherd from his loan at Bradford City is looking increasingly like a very bad one.
Not throwing him into this very toxic environment whilst we are struggling is probably the best thing for his development at least mate.
Completely agree, mate. With the players weve had since weve been down here, Connell, Phillips, Okeefe, Roberts, Russell,Humphrys, Earl, Watters, etc have all played a lot of EFL football, including at this level & higher.
