I would. But I wouldn’t be popular. Because people don’t want honesty or “goodness” from their politicians unfortunately. They want politicians to look after their personal interests, and they don’t care if their interests are “good” or “honest”. Selfish people Get self serving politicians. The only thing that stops society falling apart is the two party system that means just when the country is on its knees, the other party comes in and reverses some of the damage, and does some damage of their own in a different area.
I can't agree with the both as bad as each other nonsense, but I do often think of this Douglas Adams quote: "The major problem—one of the major problems, for there are several—one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them. To summarize: it is a well-known fact that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job."
He’s been sacked hasn’t he? And quickly. Remember the Owen Patterson, Chris Pincher, Priti Patel, Boris Johnson, Gavin Williamson fiasco’s? Not an exhaustive list either. Surely we should be thankful that when someone crosses the line, they actually get kicked? Though I’m still not actually sure why Haigh and Siddiqi had to step down other than to appease the unappeasable right wing press.
