Barnsley Football Club is proud to announce the return of the 'Reds Against Hunger' donation drive, in partnership with Barnsley FC Community Trust. This initiative aims to support local individuals and families facing food insecurity by collecting non-perishable food items for Barnsley Foodbank. We encourage all supporters attending the match against Huddersfield Town on Saturday 15 February, to bring non-perishable food donations. Donations will be collected in the Ozone on matchday. For those unable to bring items on the day, contributions can also be dropped off at Barnsley FC Community Trust prior to the game. Fans attending the game are encouraged to bring items such as tinned goods, pasta, rice, cereals, and other essential food items. Georgina Arnold, Development and Communications Administrator, said: “We are thrilled to be working alongside Barnsley FC and Barnsley Community Trust again. Last year, we gave out the equivalent of 205,313 meals to individuals in crisis across Barnsley. We are having a busy Winter, with food parcel requests expected to incline as the year goes on. The support we receive from the team is amazing and we wish them luck in the match too! “We know how passionate our fans are about supporting the community, and this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference,” said Kieron Campbell of Barnsley FC Community Trust. “Every donation, big or small, will help those who need it most.” To find out more about Barnsley Foodbank, visit their website here. I told my daughter I could make a complete working motor car out of spaghetti and lasagne. She laughed at me but you should have seen her face when I drove pasta!
