    Can't be Lucas Joao anymore (not that it was likely to be anyway). He signed for a club in 2nd tier of Turkish football 2 days ago.

    Made his debut same day and got a goal and assist it seems. For me he would have been the best option available. Hopefully we find out something soon.

    Yes, it is frustrating mate.....very. Just think our approach is wrong, it always seems to be quantity over quality and it's killing us.
    We end up with a bloated squad and under par players we're stuck with.

    I think we've misunderstood the whole thing. He actually said he had a zoom call about a free Asian and took delivery of a banquet delivery from Mai Thai Kitchen last weekend.

    Pretty sure whoever it is will have been ticking over with gym sessions, going on runs, eating right etc in anticipation of finding a new club.

    If they signed in time for the Huddersfield game, I would expect them straight on to the bench.

    It's interesting that he's playing this one out in the public domain rather than the usual policy of keeping everything completely private.

    Almost like he's putting more public pressure on the recruitment team to get it closed out.

    Where was that said? In the radio Sheffield interview? In the chronicle link from Doug it says they’re hoping it will get sorted at the “back end of the week”.

    Edit: I’ve just seen on the link on here from the official site where he’s said that. Yeah, you’re right.

    Sounds like they are just nailing the work permit situation before the final signing of him and announcing it.

    Which makes sense.

    I think all of this was only made public to appease the fans a little.

    I think the club will be moving heaven and earth to announce this before Friday night….
