    Don't think there's owt to laugh about there. this is one of the reasons why we get such sh*te reffing at lg1..Radio did a stint about this incident today and a guy from the Ref's association said he asked 21 trainee refs if they were intending to progress to league football..21 no's....this is why the standards so poor...totally agree there should be no threat to the officials.

    The footage is horrendous. There isn’t even any kind of altercation. He just waits for the lino to get in range, then flattens him while he’s not looking. Vile assault. I bet he follows Joey Barton on Twitter.

    Disgraceful that this is a suspended sentence. After all the work that has been done to highlight the dangers of "one punch" killers, letting this coward walk free is disgusting.

    No excuses. Doesn't look like a regular official. I'm guessing one of the subs (orange kit) wearing a bib. So, I'm surprised his team managed to control themselves if the case.

    I've a mate who'd run the line at a few Premier games and also refereed all manner of games. He packed it in due to the assaults and abuse.
