Beat Crawley 3-0. 4 wins in a row and it finally felt like things had clicked. Sitting pretty in 5th, 4 points clear of Stockport in 7th having both played 25 games. . Just over a month later and we’re 10th (could even drop to 12th after other teams play their midweek games) 14 points behind Stockport who are now 4th. What on earth has happened? Utterly depressing.
Sickening. I don't even know when our next game after Rotherham is and don't particularly care. Isn't it weird how we go to 5 hit every season around the build up to racing season hotting up. Suits me though as I'd rather watch horse racing anyway.
The rot started early doors in the second half of that Crawley game when tinker man needlessly disrupted a settled side by bringing Roberts on.......sithi.
Thing is we played some great stuff in the first game we lost at Bristol Rovers, if Watters had an ounce of talent we’d have battered them that day. But he hasn’t and we lost. Then we’ve kept losing ever since.
Correct!, instead of going on to wipe the floor with 'em 4 or 5 nil it could easily have been a 3 all draw if it wasn't for Killip and sh¡te Crawley finishing........sithi.
I think the penny dropped in the minds of the better players that in reality the team / squad overall wasn't good enough and wouldn't get promoted and their performance levels have dropped as a result. I also don't think the players have any belief in the head coach.
The rot set in when someone ( I can’t remember who) offended the footballing gods by coming on here predicting that we would extend the winning streak from four to six.
They turned out to be a false dawn. If you break the season up into 3 (16-15-15), the other 11 games of that third yielded 5 points. Relegation form. Twice this season we’ve given Huddersfield a leg up when they couldn’t buy a win, and we are so generous at Oakwell, maybe this sign would be apt?
We might have done if the Northampton game had gone ahead, and we played well enough at Bristol, just couldn’t score.
