I wouldn’t be bothered if he was as thick as shiiit so long as he could spot a good player!.....recruitment boss needs to have some footballing nous/experience.
You're right it's not the most pressing thing at the moment but it's a another symptom of the malaise.
I haven’t spoken about my belief in the academy though. I just think it’s low down on the list of expense. People referred to its lack of first team player production. That’s true. I don’t dispute that. I would have thought that in this tier of football especially - less quality - we’d have seen more youngsters involved. So you - and others - could well be right about the academy, about Bobby. It’s just not on my radar right now. Nothing to do with bias either. I’m on good terms with first team staff but it’s not stopping me having my opinion on it. The day I left, I reverted to being a supporter only. Which I’ll always be. They won’t always be at Barnsley though.
His data analysis should identify what we need but I agree that the actual recruitment should be a football person’s responsibility.
I trust that he can identify what we need but the evidence is that he’s not shopping in the right places.
Maybe his data works at PL / Top Championship level when it's easier to attract the players he's identifying when you can use wage levels to iron out other negatives but it certainly doesn't appear to work at a skint L1 club.
Gone in to Aldi to do his weekly big shop to get necessities but got distracted down the middle aisle and came out with a wetsuit a viking helmet and a trombone.
I would imagine the choice of signing would be Clarke.Recruitment team told what player type to find, players Identified,Mladan to check the finances with Flatman an Zuc player signed subject to affordability.
