I’ve always gone with a season ticket.

I missed Burton for lass’s 40th. Watched on phone in bits in Notts.

Got a huge family reunion **** up 8 March so Blackpool in doubt.

Happy to miss Lincoln to take City loving lad to Etihad as I have seven times this season.

I no longer feel bad missing. like Stockport when ill last week although down given had ticket and train.

I’ve watched for 37 years. If that’s my view and from what I know of mates who don’t come despite season tickets, what’s the future for the midlife crisis folk like us?

My dad saw us in Div 4 and re-election so I know all that but we can’t just harp back to when ‘it wor worse’ than this.

I haven’t been since the Wrexham game. I’ve got to the stage where Saturdays are appalling seeing us lose from home therefore will probably be back for the Blackpool home game. Needed time away and spent time doing other things. We’ll be there longer than those who own the club but allowed time off.

Think next season more than any other will see a massive downturn in season ticket sales , I’ve done over 40 years and so have my mates and for the first time we are seriously considering not bothering next year.

What's more concerning to me (unless I've got it wrong mate) is you have a son who's more bothered about a big 6 club a while away over supporting the club his dad supports. Its happening more and more to every club who aren't relatively large and its a bleak looking future when we start dying off!

Edit - that's not a dig at you or your son btw. Just from a general viewpoint. The club need to try incredibly hard to get loyalty back and get the young ones involved. Football on pitch will never match the elite football but maybe the club around it can have an impact - especially when it comes to finances

I think that's just a symptom of modern society. I don't follow any Premier League sides on social media, but can guarantee that within, say, 10 Instagram posts, I'll see a picture or video of one of the big sides players. When I was a kid, we didn't have Sky, and whilst champions league football was on terrestrial TV, nothing beat going to Oakwell on a Saturday. Social media and Sky TV has made the Premier League considerably more appealing over the years to someone more impressionable than I am now as an adult.

Edit: did the experiment, a photo of Ruben Amorim was in the first 10 posts on my Instagram feed.

I've been taken aback by how many fans have bought season tickets and just thought **** it - I'm not going. It's been going on a few seasons now. Amazing levels of affluence - or just amazing levels of disillusion.

Don't think we've ever had to go through reelection mate. Been fairly close a few times.
