The new Everton ground looks amazing but why are the stanchions in the roof white instead of blue? Is it to do with light?
First game at the stadium yesterday - between Everton U18s and Wigan U18s. One of the Wigan players scored the first ever goal at the stadium and just happens to be a Liverpool fan. ‘Rattled’ - Liverpool supporter taunts Everton fans after scoring first goal at their new stadium | talkSPORT
Looks like another soulless bowl to me. Goodison was a proper iconic ground with a fantastic atmosphere. Another great old ground about to be consigned to history. I know it’s supposed progress but I find it sad.
The Everton fans don't think so https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cm27rjp0emeo I don't get every new stadium being called a "soulless bowl". There's nothing worse for atmosphere than new grounds built with open corners, these new stadiums are designed with acoustics in mind.
I spoke to a random Everton fan a couple of months ago, he couldn't wait for them to move, maybe its only Barnsley fans who are stuck in the past? I don't get the attachment to an old ground, in particular our old ground, its a mess tbh. Yes, it would be sad to leave oakwell, but people talk like its the Taj Mahal
Goodison Park is a dump with restricted viewing and little leg room. They should have left years ago.
